Week 3 Day 1

How appropriate that I display a vintage Rolex before and after. It is about time. Time to fess up. Time to realize that a binge is not about the food.  I tread dangerously into the past. All this moving. There are memories unspoken and unwritten that are like a Lifetime movie channel drama in my past. To go back to a place I lived 18 yrs ago. I recognized my stress eating and stopped after eating a rotisserie chicken and then cereal. Later, I shoved down a turkey sandwich and cookies and milk. Sunday was not a fun day like with The Bangles.
I am not gonna beat myself over this. I have a great mind easing rationale. I have done well 13 days on a diet. One day I fudge, without the literal item fudge. LOL. More reason to just put it behind and keep on track, The 5 percent echoes in my head. I wanna be part of it!!

Beginning weight: 253
Current weight: 253

I am pretty sure there is some loss there somewhere, but my scale and Sunday's binge won't show it. It may make for a better showing next weigh in, hopefully.  I had some hard time with my water intake this week end. I will be moving south in a little bit more than 2 weeks. I want to be a little lighter. Saw my first flock of Canadian Geese and thought I would soon be going their way!

11 more weeks of the challenge. Let's all lose some weight!

  1. Yes, you are right. Let's all lose some weight. We can not stay the same for 11 more weeks. We can do this!

  2. It sucks that a short mistake can undo the effort so quickly, but I think realising that it's not the food you're having problems with is an important first step. This week, before you eat anything, ask yourself 'how am I really feeling right now? Write it down if it helps. Most the time it isn't food you need, you have no hunger signals from your body, but you're interpreting the emotional hole as a physical one. Recognising and labelling your feelings at these times will be hard to deal with, but will help enormously. I think that realisation will be key to you succeeding in this - you can do it!

  3. Well the bright spot is that you did not post a gain. Staying the same is okay. As you know part of this getting healthier journey is figuring out why we do the things that we do. What is behind that binging in the first place. I think you know. Can you move beyond it this week? Yes. I think you can. For one, you blogged about it. SO you have opened yourself up to us. We have all been there. 5% here we come! michele

  4. It's great that you recognize your emotional eating. It took me forever to get there. Just remember to take it one day at a time. Just focus on today- not yesterday or tomorrow. Just today. You can do it!

  5. At least you didn't gain and that's something positive. Emotional eating is a real challenge to me, too. I've lived long enough to have far too many reasons to gorge my emotions and I have done just that. Now I have the pounds to show for it. I'm not sure which is harder - facing the emotions or not eating! I do know that at least I feel much better physically when I don't try to stuff the emotional pain. You have a lot of stress, too, with a move, so I wish you the best of success in the week(s) ahead. You have a lot to deal with AND you have a lot of support, too. I wish you a great week. Jackie

  6. I believe quite a few of us struggle with binge eating or eating our emotions away. I do. Recognizing it and learning from it is a step in the right direction. Don't eat your feeling away with food, write them down or talk them out.

  7. It is good that you do recognize when a binge is taking place. I think your next step is taking a minute or two right before you eat anything to ask yourself if you are eating because of hunger or stress or something else. But you have the right mindset in forgiving yourself - you cannot change the past - but you can change the future. Here is to a good week and getting back on the path to healthiness!

  8. Emotional eating can be a challenge, but one day at a time.
    Keep up the good work.

  9. So glad that you did not have a gain, in spite of your week. Emotional eating is something that most of us deal with. There are many weeks left of the challenge. Hang in there, because if you do, you're bound to lose some weight and make some progress with some of the other issues that we overweight folks have to deal with.

  10. Staying the same is definitely better than gaining! We can all do this!

  11. You didnt gain, and that is a positive for week 2. Don't give up, you can do this.

I love the flapper pics :)
