Update

I really like challenges, but these last two...man I just had such a hard time keeping with the program.

What I have learned? I think I was a bit cocky and life just threw me a curve to put me in check a bit.

Mir left a comment suggesting I do the last week and a half of the challenge. We already packed the scale. My daughter has gypsy packing skills. Even though we won't be on the road until the 3rd...the majority of the home is packed. Regardless, I will be keeping an eye on my food intake. Keep hydrated and be hopeful that when we unpack the darned thing, I will see some pounds lost. That is about all I can do right now.

The temps here in Vegas are already in the high 70's and low 80's. This week they anticipate it to go to 88. I have been barefoot when on the porch most of the stay here. We have been here since October.

There was much adjusting to do. The roads are fast and traffic filled. The many stores are awesome. I DID however see the first cockroach in 12 years. We called the bug guy. So the count was 3 cockroaches seen.

Our backyard is grassless. It is sand. I imagined it to be horrible in the summer.

Our power bill has been 250 to 300 all our stay plus we had to put in a 350 deposit. The trucker job is not really paying what they thought. Repo man was here today...ho hum. My daughter has tried to have her own car...but guess her man's big Monster Redneck truck is all they can afford to keep. I would love driving it (not mine), but she can't reach the pedal down to put the clutch in. Too busy for a mom with kids in the back worrying about shifting gears...

Helicopters, sirens and airplane sounds all through the day.

Pigeons.

Oh the news is horrible. Shooting, theft and pedestrians run over. The count is around 30 pedestrians ran over this year so far.

It has been over 18 yrs that I had lived in a very large metropolis. The only perk here is the "cheap" casino food and the wide variety of stores. If I were younger or more hip, I would dig the night life...but nah. This is a great place to visit...then leave.

I like grass, running water and occasional wildlife running around. Oh and I miss the spring early summer asparagus hunt.

Believe it or not, they don't have those drive thru coffee stops all over in Vegas. I am guessing that it is a risk to get jacked as quickly as you can get a frapp or an expresso.

I guess I like the slow smaller city life. We are going back to a 50,000 population opposed to the 584,000 population.

My favorite local spot in the area I lived in Idaho. About 15 miles out of town. There is a hot springs you can pay to swim at. The fishing on the Snake river is serene. Then below it, is the "Falls" that is literally downtown. There is a nice park walk of over 5 miles running the length. Duckies and geese. Funny how they get picture angles to avoid the massive Mormon Temple in the right side...it is massive. Mormons don't bother me, but the building takes a big portion of the horizon. This is about the only angle you get with out it's omnipresence. lol

Hey bloggies

Getting accustomed to not having my 25 YR old 80's style. Looking forward to a better spring . Happy to be able to fish on a grassy shore and go wild asparagus hunting. My bike opposed to last year's scooter...

Having email subscriptions to the blogs I follow is a great tool for support. I have a notification tone on my phone when gmail comes in. It is a Mario bros stomp and I hear it all through the day. I could just as well have made it a tone saying "you are on a weight loss journey and you are NOT alone". I really appreciate those bloggies and regular posts. It has kept me in check. I have not lost my "weigh".

2012 whoo hoo!

Man...2012...has got to get better for me. All sorts of crap and bad news. And damn...I finally spent a snowless winter only to have a different kind of cold this season.

My sister dying and communicating with my mother again just kind of took me back. Then a friend I had not seen since 1985 and is younger died last week. He had a life of health problems and I imagined he had passed long ago. I found him on Facebook last year. That took me back as well.

I guess for a bit I have been sitting on my ass feeling old. I so much want to avoid the sitting, contemplating old stories and either being bitter or wearing a big OLD label in my cozy chair spot reminiscing and thinking that this is the end. Screw that shit.

Oh oh flashback. I was 28 and the friend who just died had a neighbor with a kid. The husband was in the Air Force and lean and military looking. She was like 260 lbs and blamed it all on being pregnant. They had a picture of her beauty queen prom date picture where she was all so svelt. I remember having to climb out the window for some reason. She had said "I could never do that". You know, I was overweight as well. Around maybe 220 at my highest those days and also recently had a baby...but damn if I was gonna NOT or CAN'T DO. Is being FAT a license for being non physical? Screw that shit, too.

Bloggies! Just don't do that to yourself.
I am all good now thinking that regardless my weight I HAVE DONE AND CAN DO. I am seriously all good about that. If I AM a bit sedentary, it is just laziness. I will be OK. I am OK. Let's tally this all at the end of this year and see where I will be. I have kept the pounds I lost off and I am thankful for that. Let's just see when I get back on this horse.

Again apologies for dissing on the Challenges...I guess I had a mental challenge I needed to conquer.

Bloggie love!

I'm ok

Really nasty bug. Thought it might even be worms or some type of poisoning. I really was feeling bad for such a long time. Went to the ER after over 4 weeks fighting it. The almost 2 YR old little Zozo came down with it. She had it for 4 days. We went to the ER together. Her pedi ER was faster. When she got diagnosed before me, decided to leave. Can only treat symptoms of what they called a nasty bout of the flu.

HELL I am not frail and aged. I persevered yet wondered why it lasted so long. Even wondered if it was the former 50's to not so long ago nuclear test desert water? Started drinking bottled water.

So my daughter is going to beauty school...decided on a drastic feeling better makeover.

With all this illness, the fact I ate even though I could not keep it solid long, is why I did not even lose a pound? Too bad, but I did not gain.

I am sorry to have kept all in mystery.

I am still not fully recovered.

Guess what? Moving back to Idaho. You must think we are Gypsies!

Hello

It is a not a secret that I am a Star Wars fan. Tonight is the last showing of Star Wars Episode 1 in 3D. I have never seen a 3D and this has been long awaited. Unfortunately it is an episode I already know, but I imagine the 3D effects will be outstanding. I broke down and decided to treat myself to this.

I have been really sick with intestinal issues. Sparing you the details of it all...but I am still not over it. When someone else came down with it...I was then relieved that it was not some new breakdown I was facing, however I would not wish this on anyone. It has been the longest time. Since around the 15th. I started feeling better, then it seems that I relapsed.
I am so sorry to ignore the blog. I just wanted to stop the cramping, nausea and gas. With all that activity in my gut...I just doubt a weigh in would mean much.
